Here is the list of my 10 favorite personal finance blog posts of May 1 through May 8th. And while you’re here, check out our latest money making scheme blog feature: Blog Graveyard: our online pantheon to dearly departed blogs.
1. Sustainable Personal Finance – 16 Driving Tips to Improve Gas Mileage – Can’t get much more timely then this and some real outside the box ideas. I’ve been thinking about addressing this topic myself soon–although I will definitely need a new angle because this post is very comprehensive.
2. So Over Debt – I’m Over Irresponsible People – One of my favorite new bloggers with a great post about accountability. I love how self-aware the writing is.
3. Wealth Informatics – 1,000,000+ free Kindle books - I had no idea this was available. And while you’re there, stick around in the archives so you can read more of one of my favorite writers. Always awesome and well-researched articles over at W.I.
4. Wealth Artisan – Coupons for the Non-Couponer – Repeat after me: “Coupons are not the enemy.”
5. Budgeting in the Fun Stuff - Pet Smart v. Pet Co, Which is More Affordable?, Guest Post by My Personal Finance Journey - The real question is: why doesn’t my dog care?
6. The Financial Blogger – Niche Websites Failures and Successes so Far - I love how honest and transparent this informative article by the one and only TFB is. Go check it out.
7. Bucksome Boomer – Steps to Take Before Bankruptcy – Well researched and informative post–hoping I can stay away from that path…
8. Cash Money Life - Getting a Mortgage with Self-Employment Income – What an under-addressed topic within the personal finance blogging community. If this post applies to you just leave my site right now (well, after reading this post) and check it out.
9. Yes, I am Cheap - Going to Extremes to Save – The fine line between being frugal and being a looney tune. Great post by the always well-written Yes I am Cheap.
10. Canadian Doomer – Stocking Up…or Hoarding – It’s always a fine line isn’t it. Go check out by friend C.D.’s thought-provoking post that actually had me laughing (perhaps inappropriately) at a few points.

My goodness, everyone’s focused on coupons lately, aren’t they?
C.D.
I think my wife and I need to start using more coupons. We’re terrible when it comes to that.
Thanks for including my post, and for the compliment!
