10. So Over Debt - I’m Done With My Job – I think we’ve all been there before. Sick of our jobs to the point of disgust. Hang in there!
9. Squirrelers – First Job Lessons Learned – I’m a sucker for awful “first jobs in high school” type stories. Reminds me of my lovely summers as “the janitor.”
8. Frugal Dad - Outsourcing Household Chores – This is a constant battle in my own mind as well, so I was glad to see another perspective on whether to “outsource” things like cutting the grass.
7. Beating Broke - Stop Adding Up the Cost of Children – I feel like this perspective isn’t given enough. If you want kids you’ll have them, regardless of cost–great point and rare in the “personal finance blogging” world.
6. Smart on Money – 10 Expenses You Should Reexamine – Favorite points: make sure the PMI comes off when you’ve reached 20% of your mortgage, question your property taxes and have them reassessed.
5. PTMoney - Self Employment, A Year Later – A gritty, up and down, and ultimately inspiring post for anyone who dreams of self-employment.
4. Control Your Cash – “Programmed to Receive” – The writer of this blog is, in my opinion, definitely kind of an ass. He’s also kind of a genius– and a great writer. Go check out this interesting piece on the Eagles (rock band) that shows the beauty of being an owner rather than an employee.
3. The Broke MBA - Surviving the Project Plateau – Definitely something I suffer from.
2. MoneyCrush – Start a Side Business In Your Sleep (or not) – I really enjoyed this concise post about the true nature of “passive income.”
1. Get Rich Slowly – What I’ve Learned from My First Garden (so far) – I’m really into my first garden right now, so I particularly enjoyed this post from the always excellent J.D., Roth.
